As Christians, we are called to be generous with our resources. Below are some of the ways we try to be the hands and feet of God.

Heifer Project

We support Heifer International, a global nonprofit working to eradicate poverty and hunger through sustainable, values-based holistic community development. Heifer International distributes animals, along with agricultural and values-based training, to families in need around the world as a means of providing self-sufficiency.

Agape Food Basket

We support our local community food bank. Located in the basement of the Fruita Civic Center, 325 East Aspen Ave., Agape Food Basket is an emergency food pantry serving the Lower Valley (Fruita, Loma & Mack.) It is open Wednesdays, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Must have a valid ID and a bill or pay stub with current address to show proof of residency in the Lower Valley. You can bring donations for Agape to the church and leave them with us during Worship on Sundays or during office hours (most days 10ish to noonish.) and we will it to them.

United Methodist Committee On Relief

UMCOR provides humanitarian relief and disaster response in the United States and internationally. Our efforts are targeted in places where natural disasters, war, or conflict have done so much damage that communities are unable to recover on their own. In addition, UMCOR helps communities in the United States and abroad prepare for emergencies and to reduce the risk of disasters through a roster of training programs. We also are involved in global development work. Specific programs address issues of health, sanitation, poverty, sustainable agriculture, nutrition, and food security. Many development problems are interrelated, so UMCOR uses integrated solutions to address their root causes. UMCOR seeks to empower local hospitals, schools, churches, and other stakeholders by enhancing their capacity to address these issues.

At the church

We have a small community garden located at the church around the church sign for all to harvest from. To the left of the southwest entrance, look for our little free pantry, with food for those in need. Find our little free library for books to share with anyone, just to the left of the southeast entrance by the ramp.
